The client wanted a light-filled orangery that opens fully to the garden with bi-folding doors. They requested that the adjacent dining room extension match the new orangery’s design language. We also needed to replace the existing windows above with bespoke oak frames to maintain consistency.
Farrow & Jones replaced an under-used rear elevation with a striking orangery featuring a central lantern roof and full-height bi-folding doors. To create a cohesive aesthetic, the neighbouring dining room extension was remodelled in parallel, sharing matching brickwork, hardwood joinery, and proportions.
• Full-height timber-framed bi-folding doors, creating a seamless indoor–outdoor connection
• Central roof lantern with low-iron glass to flood the space with natural light
• Newly installed oak windows above the kitchen extension to echo the orangery joinery
• Matching stone dwarf walls and precision masonry for continuity across both structures
• Factory-finished painted joinery in a heritage colour, blending modern performance with traditional warmth
The combined orangery and dining extension transformed the home’s footprint into a light-drenched, flexible living space. The bi-fold doors open wide for summer entertaining, while the upgraded oak windows tie the two volumes together visually. The result is a unified architectural statement that enhances both lifestyle and property value.
