The primary difference lies in structural intent. While uPVC is a plastic-based material designed for budget-friendly windows, our architectural aluminum is a high-strength metal. This allows for significantly slimmer frames that can support much larger, heavier spans of glass without the need for thick, bulky reinforcements that clutter your view.
Modern aluminum technology has surpassed traditional expectations. Our systems utilize a polyamide thermal break—a high-density horizontal barrier—that separates the inner and outer aluminum frames. When paired with Argon-filled, Low-E glass, this creates a thermal barrier that outperforms standard uPVC, keeping your room cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
No. uPVC is prone to UV degradation, which can lead to yellowing, cracking, or becoming brittle over a decade of sun exposure. Our aluminum is finished with a marine-grade powder coating, baked on at high temperatures. This creates a finish that is virtually immune to UV fading and will not peel or flake, even in harsh coastal environments.
Our aluminum rooms are engineered for maximum security. Aluminum is inherently rigid and difficult to bend or jemmy. We integrate multi-point shoot-bolt locking systems and internal glazing beads as standard. Unlike uPVC, which can be more pliable, our structural aluminum frames provide a rock-solid foundation that meets the highest PAS 24 security standards.
While uPVC has a lower initial cost, aluminum offers a much higher lifecycle value. Aluminum is a "fit and forget" material; it doesn't expand or contract significantly with temperature changes (which often causes uPVC doors to stick or leak). An aluminum glass room adds a distinct architectural "premium" to your property value that standard plastic structures simply cannot match.
